Questions

How do I check if AI mentions my company?

Updated September 2026 · by Monish

Short answer

Put your buyers' questions to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews with your market set, and record who each names and which pages it cites. Do it for about fifteen questions, not one, because each answer is assembled from a different fetch. The free check on this site runs exactly that and hands back a scored report.

The questions to use

Not your company's name. A buyer who knows your name is not the buyer you are losing. Use the questions asked before a name is known: 'best X for Y', 'which X do Z', 'A alternatives', 'A vs B'. The report derives them from your own website, so they are the questions your category actually gets.

What to record

Three things per answer: whether you were named, your position if you were, and whether your own site was cited. Named first with your page cited is the best case; cited but not named means the engine read your page for a fact and recommended someone else; absent means the sources it read do not list you.

Why four engines

They read differently. ChatGPT and Perplexity search on every asking; Gemini's grounded answer follows Google's ranking; AI Overviews are written from ranked pages and are not shown for every question. A company can be strong on one and absent on another.
